Historic Half
Save $10 on registration for the Marine Corps Historic Half marathon by signing up before February 23, 2010 when the fee increases to $75.  The Historic Half and the Semper Fred 5K will be held on May 16, 2010 in Historic Fredericksburg, Virginia.

In 2010, Semper Fred 5K participants will run a new, more exciting course that utilizes the Historic Half start and finish lines.  The Semper Fred 5K presented by the Free Lance Star will begin moments after the Historic Half.    

Now is the time to book a weekend stay through the Historic Half hotel desk.  Plan to spend time in charming historic downtown Fredericksburg and find yourself in a timeless blend of the most fascinating of American heritage along with upbeat contemporary shopping, dining and entertainment.  Visit the Free Lance Star website for more info about Fredericksburg.   

Marine Corps Historic Half welcomes groups or individuals interested in volunteering during event weekend.  Assignments include on-course, at packet pick-up, in hospitality and as entertainers.  Register to volunteer or contact  the Historic Half office if you are an entertainer or part of a band interested in performing on event day.  

Visit the Historic Half online store to purchase exclusive technical apparel and the official 2010 “Inspired” in-training shirt.  More Historic Half merchandise will be unveiled starting in February.

The Marine Corps Marathon celebrates 35 years in 2010.  Registration opens on April 7 for the 35th MCM to be held on October 31.  Active duty discount begins on March 4.  The MCM Run 2 Register 10K  on March 27 offers guaranteed early access to all finishers.  Find out if the MCM Expo Access Tour is visiting a marathon near you with special advance registration codes.  Registration begins on January 13 for Runners Club members and those 2009 MCM runners who deferred their entry to 2010.  An email will be sent to these runners with additional information. 

The new Crossroads 17.75K race to be held on June 12, 2010 will culminate at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Prince William County, just outside the main gate of Marine Corps Base Quantico, known as the “Crossroads of the Corps.”  The unique race distance commemorates the year the Marine Corps was founded and equates to 11.03 miles.
