Impressionism developed in France in the nineteenth century and is based on the practice of painting out of doors and spontaneously ‘on the spot’ rather than in a studio from sketches. Main impressionist subjects were landscapes and scenes of everyday life.Brushwork became rapid and broken into separate dabs in order to render the fleeting quality of light. Learn more about this art period with teaching artist Heidi Benson. Heidi will share the beautiful imagery and history of this favorite art period while you enjoy an evening of *wine tasting. Taught by Heidi Benson 1 class, 2.5 hrs. *Must be 21 yrs of age or older to participate in wine tastings.
