Todd Bordonaro teaches people how to play the game of golf in a simple, straight-forward and fun learning environment. Over the past 18 years, he has taught thousands of students to enjoy the game and at the same time develop their potential to play great golf. Todd’s adult students are often from corporate backgrounds and want to learn the game as an additional tool to have on their business resumes.
His commitment to developing junior golf in the metropolitan area has led him to serve in the following positions: Director of Player Development for The Bridge Golf Foundation, Director of Instruction for The First Tee of Metropolitan New York, Director of the Met PGA’s Golf-in-Schools program, Golf Commissioner for the Public Schools Athletic League, Varsity Golf Coach for The Bronx High School of Science, National Trainer for The First Tee home office, Director of Junior Golf programs at Randall’s Island Golf Center, member of the Met PGA Junior Golf Committee. Many of his junior students play top level tournament golf and are selected to play on high school and college golf teams.
Todd’s holistic approach of incorporating fitness and nutrition in his teaching, set him apart from traditional instructors. He continues to evolve and educate himself by studying and learning from the best teachers and coaches in the business including: Ben Doyle, Hank Haney, Jim Hardy, Dave Pelz, Bobby Clampett and Mike Breed.
Todd’s certifications include: The PGA of America (Class A Certified Professional), The First Tee (Recognized Coach and National Trainer), The Impact Zone (Certified Advanced Instructor),
The Golfing Machine (Authorized Instructor), The Titleist Performance Institute (Certified Golf Fitness Instructor) and The American Fitness Professionals Association (Certified Sports Nutrition Coach).
Todd has been featured on ESPN’s Golf Talk Radio, Forbes Magazine, The Daily News, Fox 5 New York and The NBC Sunday Morning Show. He is the author of three instructional articles for Met Golfer magazine. In 2009 the Metropolitan PGA awarded Todd the Player Development award for outstanding contributions in growing the game of golf. Todd plays in many local and national events including The Florida Professional Golf Tour.
