"The woods are lovely, dark and deep..." and though you may have promises to keep, you should still get out hiking in them! The winter months offer some of the best opportunities for nature observation whether you're searching for animal tracks, tree species, resident birds, or ice crystals. Enjoy the quiet and serenity of our winter forests as we explore our parks system's prime examples each month. Walks are on natural surface trails and usually 3 miles in length. We stop frequently to listen, watch and learn. Directions to the trail head will be emailed to registered participants prior to the hiking date. We do not meet at Brookside Nature Center.)
