Beginning Drawing and Beyondw/Annie GardnerA five (5) session class




This 5-week course is for beginners who want to explore drawing, and for more experienced artists who want to improve their artistic skills. Using still-life compositions, students will learn about form, space, design, and value through working observationally. In addition, the instructor will introduce a variety of artists who are representative of the lessons provided and conduct in-process and final critiques for a helpful synopsis of the student’s progress and ideas.

Instructor Bio:Annie Gardner is a painter and teacher based in Philadelphia, PA. A 2024 awardee of the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation grant for emerging representational artists, she is concerned with perceptual and direct painting. She received her MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) where she was a recipient of the Fine Arts Venture Fund in 2023, and received her BFA from Flagler College. She exhibits in solo, two-person, and group exhibitions, most recently in "Held Lightly" at MAINSITE Contemporary Art in Norman, OK. Currently, she is part of the teaching faculty at Wayne Art Center in Wayne, PA, and a Part-Time Faculty member at Bucks County Community College in Newtown, PA.
