What's Included

The violin and cello are some of the most rewarding and beautiful instruments to play.  With a little patience, discipline, and enthusiasm, your child can start down the road to success with one of these storied instruments.  Once again, Ms. Alfano will be offering group violin and cello lessons on Mondays at Lafayette.  During her lessons, children will develop their musical talent while building a solid foundation reading and understanding music. Students are required to have music books and their own instruments. For instruments and supplies, contact Potters Violins in Bethesda Maryland at (301) 652-7070 (http://www.pottersviolins.com/). Make appointment by phone for an instrument fitting. A minimum of 3 students are required for this class to run. For additional information, contact Cara Alfano, Cara Alfano (301) 652-3915 or email caraalfano@gmail.com.

About This Organizer

The Home and School Association is proud of LEP, a program for managing afterschool enrichment at Lafayette. The HSA will not directly operate any specific afterschool offerings, but will oversee and centralize the process of registration, attendance and program conformance to all DCPS mandates for using school facilities. Classes vary in content and approach to accommodate different learning styles and interests as well as covering a variety of ages. Enrichment programs aim to allow kids to experiment, take risks, learn new skills, make new friends and develop confidence to succeed inside and outside the classroom.
