About This Activity

The VBLA Ocean Swim Series offers every swimmer the opportunity to experience ocean swimming in a competitive and safe environment. Top level swimmers will find a high level of competition from top USA, Masters, and collegiate swimmers. Novice open water swimmers will find a race that provides a safe environment as they leave the comfort of the pool and black lines for the ocean and surf.

Proceeds from the race benefit the 501-C3 non-profit Virginia Beach Lifeguard Association; a local chapter of the United States Lifesaving Association. The goal of the VBLA is to highlight safe swimming practices for the beach-going public, promote high standards of readiness through competition and support Virginia Beach's current corps of lifesaving heroes.
