Acrylic Painting Studio Class Instructor Tonya Hopson Beginner to Intermediate This six week class combines color theory and practice including examples, handouts and useful tips to create your own successful art. Each session will begin with oral instruction including examples and demonstrations. Students will have the remainder of each class for practical application. Each class will be 80% studio work and 20% discussion. Materials: Basic drawing tools – pencil, kneaded eraser, charcoal, The complete acrylic palette should include: Titanium white, Ivory black, Payne’s Grey Umber, raw and/or burnt Sienna, raw and/or burnt Red Ochre or Venetian Red Yellow Ochre and or Yellow Oxide Cadmium Yellow Lt., Lemon or Chrome Yellow, Naples Yellow Cadmium Red, Lt., Madder and/or Alizarin Crimson, Permanent Rose Cobalt Blue and or Cerulean Blue,, Ultramarine Blue, Phthalo Blue Quinacridone Magenta and/or Primary Magenta Viridian, Thalo Green, Chrome Green Oxide Brushes – an assortment of round, filbert, angled and flats, sizes 2 – 6 should be fine. If you like to work large and have the tools you certainly may use any and all that you have. Acrylic long handled brushes work best. Supports – Canvas, canvas board or canvas paper/canvas paper pad.
