About this event
This 4 WEEK, 10-credit CTE course, offered in partnership with Coastline ROP and TUSD, provides an exciting introduction to the world of culinary arts. As the first course in the Culinary Arts pathway, students will engage in hands-on learning, mastering fundamental cooking techniques, knife skills, ingredient preparation, and various cooking methods. The curriculum covers grains, pasta, pizza, proteins, and essential baking techniques, helping students build confidence in the kitchen while preparing delicious meals from scratch. Students will also have the opportunity to earn the ServSafe Food Handlers Certification. As part of the TPSF Summer Academy, this course offers a unique summer experience with fun, seasonal-themed activities not found in the traditional Culinary Arts class and spans both Session 1 and 2. Students who complete this course can continue their culinary journey by enrolling in the second-level course next summer or after school in the fall and spring, ultimately completing the Culinary Arts pathway.
