The Leavitt Father's Day 5K is run on a central Maine woods trail and field on the Saturday before Father's Day to help raise funds for the high school's cross country team. It's a family-oriented run with MANY prizes and giveaways for those who register. We use the same timing system as those used for official high school races and we are a USATF CERTIFIED event. Walkers are also welcome.
Race t-shirts will be guaranteed to the first 100 registrants. The race begins behind the high school between the track and football field.
Please note, many kids have run the entire 5k at ages 6, 7, and 8. If they take their time, they can do it! Start a lifetime of running and exercising as a family if you haven't already . This is a great chance for everyone in a family to run together. Also, this is a great place for Leavitt alums to return home and reconnect with the team. Since this is a trail run, there's no asphalt to jar the joints and no cars to dodge. Plenty of parking is available; food and refreshments will be available after the race. Everyone is encouraged to come, have fun, and enjoy our supportive community!
If you have a company that wants to provide a prize, give a shout and we can help promote your business in exchange. If you are an alum and want to set up something special for alums, let us know and we'll help make it happen!
