For anyone who has run in the desert southwest or who is looking to do so, the Sabino Canyon Sunset Run is a race you cannot miss! For 34 years runners and walkers have been enjoying the beauty and challenge of competing in this magnificent canyon.
Whether you’re up for the full 7.4 mile challenge or prefer coming out to enjoy the 1.5 mile fun run/walk, this is one night you and your friends won’t want to miss!
Event details and schedule
- 5:15pm – 7.4 mile non-competitive start: This early-start event is designed specifically for those folks needing extra time to finish before nightfall. Those who choose to enter this event will not be eligible for age-group prizes or Grand Prix points but will remain eligible for raffle prizes. This event will be timed and the results will be included on the SAR website.
- 5:45pm – 7.4 mile competitive start: Open Men and Women of all ages and ability levels are welcome. Prizes awarded to top 3 men and women overall, top 3 masters (40 and over) men and women, and the top 3 men and women in 5 year age groups
- 5:50pm – 1.5 mile fun run/walk start: This run/walk will not be timed and there are no prizes. Not to worry, the fantastic sunset and exercise will make it well worth your while!
- 5:55pm – kids fun run start – bring your little ones out and have them enjoy a quick out and back along the main road into the canyon and have them experience the joy of racing! Some cool prizes will be awarded to every finisher of the kids fun run.
