About this event

Description

This 3-month virtual Sprint Triathlon Training program is great for beginners who would like to get a taste of the sport in a controlled setting or experienced athletes who want to test their training and/or prepare for another event. We will be collaborating with local businesses to provide proper running, swimming and cycling form clinics in addition to informational gear sessions to help you along the way! Each month we will have a different focus to help you hone in and practice so you can better yourself at each event. Febrary-Running; March-Biking; April-Swimming


Form Clinic & Gear Session Dates:
(All sessions will be held at the Plant City YMCA Facility.)
February 1st: Running Form Clinic lead by FITniche @ 6pm
February 8th: Individual Shoe Fitting lead by FITniche @ 6pm

FAQ’s AND MORE INFORMATION:
-How long is a Sprint Triathlon? A Sprint Triathlon is a .5-mile swim,12.4-mile bike ride, and 3.1-mile (5k) run course.
-Are the form clinics in person? Yes! We will be partnering with FITniche and other Businesses/experts to help you with correcting your Running, Biking, and Swimming form. Dates can be seen below.
-When and where do I race? Race week will be from Sunday May 2nd to Saturday May 8th. Participants will have the option of racing in or out of the YMCA facility but check in prior to recording your race time is mandatory.
-Do I have to do the running, swimming, and biking at the same time during race week? No! You have the entire week to split up or combine each event, that is completely up to you but you should complete each single event in it’s entirety.
-Where are the form clinics and gear sessions being held? We will be holding all form clinics and gear sessions at the Plant City Family YMCA in the Gymnasium or in the Multipurpose room.
-How do I get my training program? Once you sign up, the training program will be sent to you via email in PDF form so you can view it from your laptop, phone, or print it out!
*Each month during the 12-week program we will focus on an individual event to help you hone in, practice, and learn more to help you be your best.
