This sprint triathlon starts with you battling the surf of Tamarack State Beach, which is a little calmer than most San Diego County beaches, for a 1K ocean swim. It's followed by a 25K bike ride and a 5K run. The entire course is along the coast of this beautiful seaside town.

With Coligny Beach being both hard and flat, organizers decided to race the entire triathlon on it. There is a quarter-mile ocean swim followed by a 6-mile bike ride on the beach (mountain bikes preferred) followed by a 3-mile run, also on the beach.

The charming island off the coast of Rhode Island hosts this sprint triathlon, which starts with a 1/4-mile swim off the waters on the east side of the island. Get back on dry land and bike for 12 miles before finishing with a 4-mile run.
