Welcome to the Torrance-South Bay YMCA! As School Districts adapt their plans for the upcoming school year, you may be wondering how you will navigate the new school day structure while meeting the demands of work and home. We are here to support you! We are pleased to extend a safe child care option to you and your family, as we all work together through this pandemic. Our child care program will look a little different, compared to what you may be used to. Each day, we will support children in completing their distance learning. In addition, the program will offer STEAM activities, recreation and outdoor time, homework support and enrichment activities. We will offer all of this, while ensuring that physical distancing and all safety precautions are maintained. Daily, upon arrival, we will check the temperatures of all children and staff and conduct a daily wellness assessment. Throughout the day, children will have an opportunity to wash their hands, while staff disinfect and sanitize common surfaces. Children will remain in the same small group of 12 children or less, in the same room, with the same YMCA staff members. Staff will wear face coverings at all times and children are to wear face coverings with staff supervision. At night, the rooms will be cleaned and disinfected in preparation for the next day. We know that the past few months have been challenging, to say the least. We hope to offer you and your family a little bit of relief to assist you in managing this upcoming school year. By registering for this program, the parent, guardian or authorized representative of the enrolled child/children confirms that they have read, understood and agreed to all the policies and procedures for enrollment in this YMCA program. In addition, the parent, guardian or authorized representative confirms that they have read, understood and agreed to the most recent edition of the YMCA Handbook for this program, available below and for download at www.ymcaLA.org/childcare. Changes & Cancellations: For this program: A 15-day written request is required for all program changes and cancellations. Without proper written request, the change or cancellation will be denied or applied to the next qualifying payment within the schedule; the subsequent ATS or EFT charge will draft, as scheduled. YMCA School Year Programs are continuous, from the first day of the program until the last day of program and monthly, bi-monthly and/or weekly charges will resume until the program has ended or the parent, guardian or authorized representative has emailed a 15-day written request for cancellation. Written Request: All written requests must be submitted to ChildCareAccounting@ymcaLA.org. A written request to the YMCA Director of the program is not sufficient, as it is not the YMCA Director of the program’s responsibility to submit a written request on behalf of a parent, guardian or authorized representative. Physical forms are no longer provided. Any outstanding balances will be due at the time of cancellation. The parent, guardian or authorized representative is liable for any program fees that the YMCA may incur in its effort to collect any remaining balances.
