EVENT INFO
Our Halloween Half is a howling good time, with athletes challenged to compete for time, as well as best costume awards. This race is staged at Ft. de Soto's North Beach, proclaimed the #1 beach in the country, and you'll be running on an extremely flat barrier island with no hills, bridges, or discernible inclines. How flat? Check out this video at YouTube - a high speed, 13.1 mile tour of Ft. DeSoto Park during our 2013 Florida Beach Halfathon.

Our Holiday Half is a festive point-to-point race through beach communities, residential areas, and county parks finishing lakeside at Taylor Park in Largo. With just one climb over a 25 ft. bridge and two overpasses, this is a mostly flat course and a great opportunity to celebrate the holidays with your athletic friends.

Our Clearwater Half is perhaps the most scenic and most challenging half marathon in the state, with two ascents over two large bridges twice each and spectacular views from each vista. The entire course is within 1/4 mile of Clearwater Harbor and / or the Gulf Of Mexico, with a harborside finish at Coachman Park.

Our Clearwater Marathon offers a mostly flat course, with two large bridges to ascend (Mile 1 and Mile 4), one relatively short bridge (at Mile 14), and three overpasses on the Pinellas Trail. The course tours through our eclectic beach communities, county parks, and exclusive neighborhoods. With average weather in the low 50's at start time and mid-60's at the finish line for most athletes, combined with Clearwater's award-winning beaches, this marathon is an ideal setting for a mid-winter vacation.

Our NEW Clearwater 50K Ultra will use our marathon course, but with a 2.4 mile, out-and-back "extension" south on the Pinellas Trail added at mile 16.5 of the marathon.

Our Beach Half is run on the exact same course as our Halloween Half and provides athletes an opportunity to accurately measure their progress 20 weeks after their Halloween visit. Most athletes improved their times over the winter and a few enjoyed 30+ minute improvements.

Walkers are welcome to join these races. Course support is based on a 3:30 pace for our halfathons and 7:00 for our marathon.

SERIES REWARDS

In addition to offering finisher, overall, and age group awards after each halfathon and our marathon, we also track each athlete's finishing times and add them together to determine the Florida Halfathon Champions.

Athletes accumulate their total finishing time by completing any two of our halfathon segments, PLUS our season-ending finale at the Florida Beach Halfathon during our race season from Halloween through March. For the purposes in determining Florida Halfathon Champions, athletes can use either or both half marathon segments completed during the Clearwater Marathon.

To recognize our fastest and most consistent halfathon athletes, we offer special overall and age-group rewards based on three halfathon segments. We also recognize athletes who complete all four of our halfathons (or the Clearwater Marathon instead of the Clearwater Halfathon) with a limited-edition, series finisher medal.

However, there are several benefits to signing up early for the entire series:

1) Registration service fees are minimized when signing up for the entire series at the same time.

2) Virtual athletes who register for the entire series will be the first athletes to be sent their finisher medals after each race.

3) Registering once is certainly more convenient than registering for each indivual event.

Virtual athletes will also have the option to purchase official race shirts for each event for an additional $15 per race.

USATF SANCTIONED
All our races are sanctioned and insured through USATF for runners, joggers, and walkers ONLY. Strollers, skaters, skateboards and bicycles are NOT allowed on the course during our races.

HEADPHONES AND IPODS
Headphones of any type are now allowed at USATF sanctioned events, but are discouraged due to safety concerns, not only during the actual race, but as importantly, while athletes are training in an uncontrolled environment. Individual races may impose their own regulations, but we don’t, as it would be nearly impossible to enforce.

REFUND POLICY
There are no refunds, transfers or credits, unless you register for this series by June 26, 2014 AND notify the race director of your withdrawal at least two weeks prior to the race from which you are withdrawing. Refunds or credits will be pro-rated based on the number of races for which you are officially registered two weeks prior to each race day. There are NO transfers to other athletes. ALL refunds from ALL races will be issued at the same time - after our Florida's Beach Halfathon on or about April 1, 2015.
