About this event
Join Ice Axe Expeditions for a trip to Africa to ski in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco and visit the ancient cities of Marrakesh and Imlil. This nine day trip includes a cross-section of the best natural and cultural attractions in Morocco. Beginning with a tour of the ancient city of Marrakesh and its vast market, we will then transfer to the Agafay Desert for a camel trek and night under the stars. Following that, we’ll move up into the mountains where we do some lift-assisted ski touring at the Oukaimden area and then tour up to a pass and ski down to Tachedirt for another day of ski touring. From here, we will transfer to the mountain town of Imlil and use mules to carry our ski gear up to the Refuge du Toubkal. The next two days will be devoted to climbing and skiing the highest point in Morocco, the 13,671’ (4167m) Jebel Toubkal and skiing the vast terrain around the refuge.
