This class will introduce to you Yoga as taught by the Iyengar Method. In this method the emphasis is on alignment and precision. The basic postures are introduced and awareness is created in the whole body. As awareness of every part of the body is felt so also energy is generated and the breath is engaged. The goal is to bring into alignment not just the different parts of the body but alignment of the body with the mind and the mind with the soul. Mats and props will be provided to make all poses accessible to all. Students are requested to wear comfortable clothing and please do not eat in the 2 hours prior to the class.
