Join us for the 2nd Annual Sweet Onion Run 5K, organized by the North Gwinnett Kiwanis on Saturday, May 5th @ 8:00am. This is a 2019 Peachtree Road Race Qualifier!
Kids need Kiwanis! The North Gwinnett Kiwanis Club is a community service organization, consisting of business men and women who value the giving of their time and talents in the service of others. Monies raised from this event are returned locally in the support of the Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts, Home of Hope at Gwinnett Children's Shelter, North Gwinnett Co-Op, Eagle Ranch and scholarships for our local high school seniors.
This 5K is the kick-off for the Sweet Vidalia Onion Fundraiser for Scholarships. 10lb. bags of Sweet Vidalia Onions (1, 2 or 10!) are selectable during the check-out process, for pick-up at the race, local pick-up from the S & S Ace Hardware Store at 4300 Buford Dr, Buford, GA 30518 or free delivery in the 30518 and 30519 zip codes in early May. More information about the 5K is available on FaceBook at https://www.facebook.com/events/166537270713529/ .Also this year, the Stepping Stone Montessori Schools are hosting their 4th Annual Rise & Drive Family Fest starting at 10am, right after the 5K, and running until 1:30pm. This is a wonderful kid-friendly event on the Sugar Hill Plaza, with live entertainment, food and fun for the whole family! In addition to many fun activities for kids of all ages, we will hold a 100 Yard Little Onion Dash at 10:30am for kids 2-6 years of age. Sponsorship and booth opportunities are available, if interested in participating in both events. We want to make this a fun-filled day of joy for the entire Sugar Hill community! More information for the festival is available on FaceBook at https://www.facebook.com/RiseandDriveCommunity . Both Family Fest Activity Bands (access to all the fun kid's activities planned) and 100 Yard Little Onion Dash entries are available at check-out and the day of the event.
