The West Ham United Foundation is pleased to announce that the Moore Family Fun Run will return for its third year on Monday 1st May 2017!
Participants have the choice to complete either a 5k or 10k route around Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in order to aid the Foundation’s support of vulnerable primary school pupils across Barking & Dagenham, Newham, Thurrock and Tower Hamlets.
The fundraiser is a fantastic opportunity to get the whole family active over a Bank Holiday weekend!
Children and adults are welcome to get involved and raise money for their local community, either by running or walking the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park route alongside hundreds of likeminded individuals and families.
At the end of the journey each participant will receive a Moore Family Foundation goodie bag and participation medal. There will be photo opportunities en route too!
After participating in the inaugural run two years ago, Founder Roberta Moore was thrilled to see the support from the local community.
“Following the success and growing support of this year’s Fun Run, we are all looking forward to what will be a very special occasion as we run for the first time around the Club’s official new home now that they have taken up residence. We hope that as many as people as possible will join us next May and make it our best and most successful event yet. It is a great day for every member of the family with lots of atmosphere and camaraderie - there is so much to see and enjoy on the way round the course (including some cracking fancy dress outfits courtesy of some of the runners!) and all for such a great cause.”
One of the Moore Family Foundation’s key aims is to promote healthy lifestyles among young people, so we are delighted to confirm that Diabetes UK will be supporting the event, helping drive awareness of healthy eating and regular physical activity within families.
Once registered, participants can enter our online raffle for a chance to win a signed West Ham United football on the day! In addition, participants can purchase a Moore Family Foundation t-shirt online to remember the occasion.
Plus, in order to raise as much money as possible for the Moore Family Foundation, the West Ham United Foundation are throwing down the gauntlet to participants; the 3 biggest fundraisers will each win a pair of tickets to a West Ham United league game during the 2017/18 season!
