Welcome to the 2nd annual Giro di San Diego GranFondo

Experience the passion and thrill of an Italian crafted GranFondo cycling event here in Southern California. Born in Italy, these events have captured the heart and soul of what it means to ride. The best routes, best rest stops and ultimate gourmet meals are what it’s all about. Tackle any one of three road rides, two mountain bike rides or a 5K walk.

About the Gran Fondo – Road Routes

The road routes host many of the best rides in the north county as well as the most frequently traveled paths taken by the many professional athletes that ride in the area. These roads have likened the wheels of riders as Lance Armstrong, Chris Horner, Axel Merckx, Thurlow Rogers and many others. The long Gran Fondo will also boast the fiercest of all climbs in San Diego, the south grade of Mt Palomar. This climb was featured on the 2009 and 2013 Tour of California editions and will be our official KOM for the Gran Fondo course riders.

This year we are proud to support the Wounded Warrior Marine Corps Trials presented by the USO San Diego. Help a wounded soldier recover through cycling. Please consider making a donation or forming a fundraising team to help support the US Marine Recumbent Bicycle Team. A portion of the event proceeds and 100% of your donations and fundraising activities go directly to the team.

You have to watch this Video about these Warriors!
