We're sorry, but this class is over. The last meeting was Thursday, August 8, 2019.
(Ages 16 to Adult)
Do you love the music of George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern, Johnny Mercer, Richard Rodgers, and Harold Arlen? Then join us as we come together in song, interpreting the music of these composers and so many others who contributed to the wonderful era of popular songs and jazz standards known as the Great American Songbook era (1920s - 1950s). Make new friends and rediscover beloved American tunes from Broadway, theater, and film. Each rehearsal opens with a short voice class on basic vocal and choral technique. A concert of the music covered is presented during the final class.
Please note: No audition or experience necessary, just a love of and desire to sing the Great American Songbook. For more information, please contact Joyce Lundy, Voice Department Chair, at (202) 686-8000 x1108 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
