Basics of Mindfulness for Reducing Stress

Do you ever feel stressed and like your mind is overflowing with worry, thoughts, and anxiety? Do you feel like you just need a vacation so your mind can slow down and relax? If so, mindfulness may be just the thing for you! In this workshop we will discuss what mindfulness is and why it is a valuable tool in your day-to-day life. You will learn not only the practical's to start you off, but also many different options so that you will be able to learn how to best make mindfulness work for you. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions about the experience. We will also discuss mindfulness exercises for special situations(chronic illness, pain management, smoking cessation, etc.) depending on the needs of the group. Participants will be provided with handouts and links to downloadable mp3s to continue the experience at home.
