Join us as we head west to the rich, scenic Black Hills and Badlands of South Dakota. We’ll explore historic Deadwood, including a visit to a gold mine, travel scenic winding road through Spearfish Canyon, the Needles Highway, and the Custer State Park wildlife loop. We’ll lunch at the beautiful Sylvan Lake Lodge and the following day, enjoy a hayride and chuck wagon dinner at Blue Bell Lodge. Our travels west will be punctuated by interesting stops at the Neal Smith Wildlife Refuge near Des Moines and the Loess Hills along the Missouri River in western Iowa. On the return trip, we’ll break up the miles by stopping at Pipestone National Monument in Minnesota and Devils Lake State Park in Wisconsin. Travel is by bus, and lodging at comfortable hotels will be double occupancy, unless single occupancy is requested.
