LIVING OUT LOUD: Introductory Guitar, Group Sessions with Robert Herrington
This class offers a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of instrumental (guitar) performance. We will examine the basics of instrumental technique, music theory, and instrumental improvisation. Through lecture, score study, and the examination of quality musicianship students will learn to
improve their performance ability, musicality, and further their appreciation of the arts. We will explore the guitar's immediate facilities such as fundamental chords and the first position of the guitar's neck. You will learn introductory pieces that consist of simple melodies to tunes that focus on the use of basic chord structures. Students will become familiar with the rudiments of reading sheet music.
