This course is closed to further registration.
This class is for advanced singers only. A minimum of 3 years of private voice lessons and some stage performance experience required. This class explores the many performance aspects of vocal music in a supportive master class setting. The primary focus is classical: from art song to opera, but other genres are welcome. We work on interpretation, language, technique, voice science, drama, text, and many other aspects of this incredible art form accompanied by an SFCM collaborative pianist. Students should be prepared to bring pieces, with sheet music, to perform each class (memorization required) and can choose to work on one or more throughout the entire session. We may also create ensembles or scenes with 2 or more singers from opera, oratorio, or art song. The series culminates in a public performance at SFCM.
Enrollment limited to 10 students.
Students must pass a preliminary audition in order to register for this class. If you cannot pass that audition, you are not guaranteed a spot. Please contact Heidi Moss at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange the audition.
