This is an all levels class focused on creating fluidity and heightening awareness in the body. Props such as bolsters, blocks, and straps are regularly incorporated in your practice to support proper alignment and opening of the body. Reminiscent of vinyasa and yin styles of yoga, the class emphasizes breath-to-movement and heat-building during the first half followed by slower-paced, longer held postures that simultaneously stimulate and soothe the organs. This class complements other physical activities by strengthening and stretching the most commonly strained areas of our bodies. Benefits of a yoga practice include increased strength and flexibility, clarity of mind, detoxification of organs, and may reduce the risk of heart disease and high blood pressure. It may also aid in better sleep and weight loss. Yoga mats are provided; a towel and water recommended.
