Event details and schedule
WHAT IS A VIRTUAL TRIATHLON? While we always host a triathlon at Sandy Creek Park in Athens, Georgia to unite in our support of cancer patients in our region, this year you get to "TRI" anywhere you like on your schedule! You may choose one, two or all three of the Triathlon activities and perform the events anywhere. The three events are the same distance as always but you choose the location: a 400m swim that may be performed in pool, lake, ocean; a 14 mile bike portion on your preferred course; and a 5K (3.1 miles) run and may be performed in your neighborhood, at a track, on a treadmill. (Black Bag and Clover Glove Series points will be awarded for the 5K). You may perform your event(s) anytime and anywhere after registration begins on August 3. All participants will receive a TRI 2020 t-shirt and finisher medal! If you cannot compete but would like to help cancer patients in north Georgia, please consider joining us as a TRI Supporter and receive a t-shirt. T-shirts/medals will be available for "no contact" pick-up in September. Instructions will be emailed to you about pick-up dates/procedures and options. Shipping is available upon request for an additional fee, please email Gabby Dukes (email@example.com) for more details.
Series Affiliation: The 5K run is on the 2020 Black Bag Race Series and the Clover Glove Series.
About the Cancer Foundation:
The Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to help alleviate the financial
burden of cancer for eligible patients. We accomplish this mission through our Financial
Assistance Program which provides assistance for basic life needs such as rent/mortgage
payments, utility bills, transportation costs, medications and insurance co-payments. Our aim is to
help patients avoid homelessness, hunger or lack of running water while enabling them access to
much needed treatment. You can learn more about The Cancer Foundation at www.cfnega.org.
