On May 30, 2019, we lost our beloved friend Claudia Clayton to Bipolar Disorder. Claudia was a woman of courage who held a deep love for everyone in her life. She was an active member of Mosaic Church, a volunteer with icuTalks (a mental health speaking ministry), and a CrossFit enthusiast.
In remembrance of her and to honor those who continue the fight to end the stigma against mental health, we will walk/run 3.1 miles on October 17th. With your registration for this event, you’ll receive a neck gaiter.
Our use of the Call out for Courage neck gaiter is a special opportunity to call out for those we have lost, those of us still fighting the good fight, and those who are currently struggling with mental illness or grief.
We ask that you post a short clip (less than two minutes) of your story on social media. The video can be recorded before, during, or after your 3.1 mile run/walk. We invite you to share about your struggles or talk about someone you’ve lost or brag about a loved one who is doing the deal. Tell us why you are proud of your honoree. Share your why.
Then blow up social media with your videos and/or pictures! Please add the following hashtags: #icuTalks #calloutforcourage #Claudia5k #mosaicclt so we can follow your journey.
While we provide one neck gaiter with your entry fee, we encourage you to purchase as many neck gaiters as you want, and allow each one to represent the people in your life for whom you are running or walking during this event.
Whether it is addiction, brain illness, emotional struggles, or suffering from a strain of abuse, we believe that together, we can call out for courage and bring purpose to our life story.
Join us as we collectively and actively advocate to end the stigma against mental health. Remember: Our stories is worth telling!
