About this event

October 31, 2020 - November 07, 2020
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

What are you doing on Halloween?  Wanna run in person or on your own? Ghouls and Goblins, dress in your threads of the season and join us October 31 for a good reason. This year has been a spooky one and we hope to have some fun at this year’s Hallowine Run.

*Warning* Beware if you dare… the Hallowine Run will be quite a scare; we’re socially distancing and avoiding the monsters. Luckily, this route is in a well-lit parking lot.

With your registration, your treats will be a Hallowine Run T-shirt, Race Bib, and a Finisher Medal.

The serious notes:

* Our creativity also applies to the race route – please know that our efforts to provide the opportunity to run as a socially distanced group are behind these decisions. It might not be the most exciting route, but you can run it in person, and we’ll be cheering you on!

*Race materials will be available at Packet Pickup prior to your race start on Saturday, October 31 or can be mailed to you for those choosing the virtual option for $10.

* Virtual or out of town runners may have the option to have their packet mailed for an additional $10 when registering online.

NOTE: There is a $10 shipping fee for race packages mailed out to area participants if you cannot make it to Packet Pickup.

*Refunds will not be issued.

*The timing of this race will be up to each individual and can be submitted through Active or the Active Experience app.

* IF you run in person, you must wear a mask when walking around, etc. And for the love of pumpkins, don’t be crowding around.

* If you’re running in a group - please keep it to ten of your closest friends that you’ve quarantined with or family members.

* Our top priorities are the safety of all involved and following mandates by government and health officials. This event could be potentially postponed and rescheduled or could transition to a virtual run only. By signing up, you acknowledge that you accept this and the procedures that Culinaria follows, should such a change be required.

* Yes, you can bring your dog!

Now that we have the seriousness out of the way, we hope that you have a boo-tiful Halloween and stop in for a spell!

Running In-Person:

We will be asking participants to follow local government officials’ COVID-19 guidelines.  There will be an unofficial race course where you can complete the 5K.  Please note, there is no “official” start time.  You may show up or run on your own at your location of choice.  You may run solo or with your family or trusted friends – please, no groups larger than 10.  We request that you keep your distance with other runners.

What is a Virtual Race?
In general, a virtual race, unlike a traditional race, can be run at any time and can be run anywhere. Participants can walk, use a treadmill, run outside, push baby strollers, walk/run with your dog – think of the possibilities! Participants can run or walk this race at any speed they like.

  • Please note, there is no “official” start time. On Saturday, October 31, between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., runners may physically run/walk the course.
  • Participants may run solo, with a dog, or with family or trusted friends – no groups larger than 10.
  • There will be minimal staff positioned at the beginning of the course. Staff will ensure that social distancing guidelines are enforced and answer any questions runners might have.
  • Solo participants will begin the race in groups of 2, spaced 6 feet apart, starting every minute.
We do ask that while participants wait to begin the race, they observe community-mandated COVID-19 guidelines by wearing a face mask and keeping 6 feet apart. Runners are not required to wear a face mask once the race has begun.

Feel more comfortable social distancing, but still want to have a Happy Halloween?  Are you participating from out of town?  There is just as much fun to be had when you participate virtually.  You can run or walk at home, at the gym on a treadmill, or at any of your favorite trails.  Feel free to get together with family, friends, or teams to complete the 5K, while maintaining safe social distancing recommendations.

How do I submit my results for the race?
The timing of this race will be up to each individual and can be submitted through Active at https://resultscui.active.com/events/HallowineRun2020 or the Active Experience app.

What “swag” is included in the race packet?
Race packets will include a race bib, race t-shirt and a finisher medal!

I am participating from out of town.  How will I get my race packet?
Out-of-town participants have the option to have their packet mailed for an additional $10 when registering online.

Is there a minimum age to enter the race?
No!  We encourage all ages to participate.

Hydration – Will water be available?
No, we encourage you to bring your own hydration, we are trying to limit as much contact as possible!

Can I get a refund?
Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds on registration because production costs are fixed prior to the race.
