About this event

We don't get to canoe very often so don't miss out on this leisurely family paddle in our fleet of canoes guided by our expert naturalist instructors. No experience necessary, and we provide all of the necessary equipment. We will explore the local flora and fauna of Bair Island, a rare example of an undeveloped wetland ecosystem, enjoy lunch from our canoes, and take a little bit of time for some creek cleanup! Newly implemented safety precautions require participants to purchase their spaces by canoe instead of individually. Social distancing will not be possible within the canoe so participants must be from the same family cohort (social bubble). Family combinations for 1 canoe include: 4 person max if using option B A. 2 adults (1 minor over 12 allowed to take an adult space, the other place must be a guardian over 18)) B. 2 adults, 1 or 2 young children (5 - 12 years old) C. 3 adults A single adult and 1 or 2 minors under 12 is absolutely not allowed. If you need clarification email events@sfbaymsi.org Masks will be required during entirety of program and staff will encourage social distancing and other Covid related safety procedures during program. Please comply to standard health and safety screenings upon arrival, including a health questionnaire, temperature check, and mandatory handwashing. MSI Event Cancellation and Refund Policy: No refunds for cancellations made within two weeks of the program start date. MSI will fully refund fees if the session is cancelled. Please note our events still take place rain or shine. Should MSI cancel an event for any reason you will be notified via the contact information provided through registration and be issued a full refund.
