PRIZE MONEY

For 2018, PossAbilities will be unveiling a newly revised Omnium payout structure. In an effort to enhance the competitiveness of our para-cycling race we have established a total prize payout for the Omnium of $6,000. Our new Omnium cash payouts will be based on ‘Factored Scoring’. This means that your times for the Road Race and Individual TT will be factored with the 2018 National Standard for your classification. This will determine a percentage that you were under or over the national standard in your classification. Your ‘FACTORED’ percentage for TT will be added to your ‘FACTORED’ percentage for Road Race to decide your cumulative final overall ranking for the Omnium cash prizes.

All para-cycling classifications (H, T, C, and B) will be eligible to compete for the Omnium prizes EXCEPT for the recumbent class. Unfortunately, neither USAC nor UCI have established a performance standard or an official classification for recumbent racers. However, recumbent racers will be eligible to receive podium medals after each race and there will be a total of $500 given in various ‘Primes’ to recumbent racers ONLY during Saturday and Sunday’s crits.

Omnium prizes will be awarded as follows:

  • $1,000 – 1st Place
  • $900 – 2nd Place
  • $800 – 3rd Place
  • $700 – 4th Place
  • $600 – 5th Place
  • $500 – 6th Place
  • $400 – 7th Place
  • $300 – 8th Place
  • $200 – 9th Place
  • $100 – 10th Place

CRITERIUMS:
Criterium results WILL NOT count towards the new Omnium cash payouts. ALL races for each of the four days will have the standard podium finishes of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. However, only the TT (Wednesday) and Road Race (Thursday) will count for Omnium prize payouts. Please note that National Standard times will be those recently published for 2018 which are faster than the 2017 National Standard times. Team PossAbilities feels that this new structure will allow athletes that are in underrepresented classes to virtually compete against the nation’s best racers regardless as to the number of competitors they may have in their class on race day!

PROTEST PERIOD: A protest regarding the final results must be made within 15 minutes after the posting of results in order for riders to be eligible for prizes.

AWARDS: Omnium cash payouts will be awarded during our Group Banquet on Thursday, May 4, 2018 @ 4-6pm.

START INFORMATION
All riders must check in with the para-cycle race director 30 minutes prior to race start. Riders should arrive at the start line at least 15 minutes before their designated start. Riders will start at 30 second intervals for the time trial. If a rider does not start at the appropriate time, the clock will start and will continue to run with or without the rider starting from the designated starting block. Riders who miss their designated start will be started as soon as possible after they arrive at the starting block. The time trial start order will be in race packet and will be provided to all racers at the technical meeting.
