Explore nature and learn how to draw from real-life observations. Each day we will search Prairie Ridge’s ponds, streams and prairie for plants and wildlife to inspire your creativity. Local artist and educator, Courtney Cappa, will show you how to illustrate scientific drawings of plants and animals using contemporary watercolor techniques. You will even learn about color theory and start your own portfolio! A kit of professional art supplies and sketchbook are included in the camp fee. All children must be dropped off and picked up at Prairie Ridge Ecostation; the field station of the NC Museum of Natural Sciences. No transportation is available between the Museum and Prairie Ridge Ecostation. Each child can enroll in up to 2 weeks of camp. All cancellations, registration for more than 2 camps per child, or incorrect grade level registrations incur a $30.00 processing fee per camp.
