Welding is a high-tech industry that can take you places all over the world. From ladders to aircraft carriers, from NASCAR to national defense, and from the laboratory to sales and repair, the varied welding industry impacts virtually every industry. Technology is creating more uses for welding in the workplace. For example, new ways are being developed to bond dissimilar materials and non- metallic materials, such as plastics, composites, and new alloys. This program offers students the core curriculum necessary for success in their trade or craft as well as a comprehensive introduction to the welding craft. The primary content covers topics such as basic safety, communication skills and construction drawings, providing trainees the basic skills needed to continue education in the welding craft. Certification in the American Welding society's (AWS) Certified Welder Certification D1.1 up to 4 positions will be the focus of this class.Certification testing fee and purchase of testing coupon not included. Student will be responsible for purchasing their own welding jacket, helmet, and gloves.
