Make a New Year's Resolution and join us for the Wildlife Hike-a-Thon!
Special guests Ian Harding and Torrey DeVitto from Pretty Little Liars will be joining us at the hike!
This event takes place on a scenic, point-to-point course. Bring the whole family and take the leisurely hike to the half-way point where you can enjoy a refreshing drink before turning back to the finish line. If you are up for a more challenging hike, continue on for one major hill and a few switchbacks as the course follows the curves of Poway Lake and loops back to where you started.
Registration and packet pickup will be from 9:00 – 9:45 A.M. to ensure on time start.
Early registration fees available for adults age 16+ (online via Active.com only), after January 28th fees increase to $30. Children ages 6-15 can join the hike for just $15! Children 5 and under are free! Register your dog for free but don’t forget to buy them a bandana!
Every adult registration receives a FREE Wildlife Bandana *while supplies last*.
Win an I-Pad Mini (sponsored by Stone Brewery)! Keep your camera at hand to compete in the Eye-Spy contest, pick up your Spy List when you check-in and see how many items you can snap photographs of while you hike!

When you arrive into the park, you will follow signs for Area 8 and park in designated areas. Please allow between 30-45 minutes to park, gather info and warmup prior to the event.
All participants MUST sign either the online waiver or in person when you check in for the event. All participants should bring state issued ID with them.
WHAT TO BRING
Hiking shoes, sunblock, and a digital camera/phone with camera so you can participate in the Eye Spy Game!!
If you bring your pup, make sure you also bring a portable water bowl and doggie bags for any pit stops along the path.
WHAT TO WEAR
Wear something comfortable for hiking. The trails are wide and steady but there are critters such as rattlesnakes in the area, make sure you are dressed to protect your ankles!
We are expecting over 100 hikers so make sure you arrive early! We will have pre-event activities for you to participate in.
As this is an outdoor event, we appreciate your understanding if we need to cancel some or all of the activities if the weather does not allow us to safely set-up or run the event. We will email all pre-registered participants a Rainy-day Make-up Hiking Activity with a modified Eye-Spy Challenge, allowing you to complete the hike and enter for the prize on a better weather day. If we do cancel the event due to weather, we will accept your registration fee as a donation to support the work of the Wildlife Center!
