The Spring Seminar is offered by the Pacific Northwest Region of USA Triathlon to educate multisport coaches and athletes.  The third annual conference on Saturday will feature Terry Laughlin, founder and director of of Total Immersion Swimming, as the keynote speaker.  Dan Tripps, a coach for world class swimmers and triathletes from the Seattle area will address mental aspects of coaching and racing.  Other coaches from PNW will share and present knowledge at this networking opportunity to learn and grow the sport and coaching businesses in the PNW. Terry Laughlin will also talk at the annual membership meeting Friday night at the Athletes Lounge.  Friday night is free and open to the public as well as our annual members.  Cost for the seminar is $50 for coaching CE's and $25 all others. The seminar is at the Ecotrust Building in Portland from 7am to 2pm and lunch is included.  This seminar is sponsored by the annual members of USA Triathlon Pacific Northwest Region.     

How to Swim Ultra-Efficient Freestyle  Terry’s latest book, Swim Ultra-Efficient Freestyle, is a clear, simples, and comprehensive explanation on swimming technique (and perhaps for any human-movement skill.)  Whether you’re a beginner or have swum for decades; whether you swim for health and relaxation or for endurance and speed; Terry will give insights and instruction that will provide clear direction on how to swim smarter, better . . .faster.

The Psychology of Performance and Attributes of Achievement.  Dan Tripps C.O.O. and Director of Exercise Science at Speck Health/Potentrx will speak on how methods of performance psychology can help coaches train athletes to use mental training techniques and thus enhance performance.  Dan is an achievement psychologist and executive coach. Dan was the former Director of the Master in Sport Administration and Leadership at Seattle University.

Developing an Elite Junior Team  John Tacke, PNW Regional Athletic Development Coordinator, Coach of Rock Steady Junior Triathlon Team in Sumner, WA. will talk about the differences between coaching youth and adults. The expectations for performance and  the development of elite .

Funcional Mobility and Stability for Triathletes Justin Robinson, MA,RD,CSSD,CSCS.FAFS |Registered Sports Dietitian, Strength & Conditioning Coach    Functional training (i.e. “purposeful movement”) techniques for triathletes as well assessment tools for coaches.
