About this event


This water-based printmaking process is loose and freeing! Create unique monotype prints with watercolor paints and pencils and water-soluble wax pastels. Build layers of pattern, shape and line using stamps and other relief tools.

All levels welcome. Price includes a $30 materials fee which is non-refundable after class begins. Get list online for additional needed materials.

MAC Printmaking & Book Arts Program Information

Students Provide:

  • Watercolor paints and brushes. Recommended brands in tubes include Winsor & Newton, M.Graham, Daniel Smith Extra Fine, and Holbein. Winsor & Newton Cotman pan watercolors also work well and are more affordable than tubes. Gouache can be used in combination with watercolor.
  • Watercolor pencils
  • Water soluble wax pastels (optional) - studio will have limited supply. Affordable Caran d’Ache set of ten is available at Blick: #2108-1109
  • Texture tools such as stamps, found objects, leaves
