This year our first session will include a field trip to The Porch at Schenley on Wed June 20 where we will visit their roof top garden and make our own pizzas. Students will need a signed (by parent or guardian) photo and medical release form to participate and will also need to bring a water bottle, sunblock and bug spray (a nontoxic natural bug spray will be available but only with parental consent.) A healthy snack will be provided. Each session would include general garden safety, maintenance, sensory immersion tastings, food safety and preparation, cooking demonstrations by guest chefs, and garden expansion and cultivation. We will be following curriculum from our fiscal sponsors Slow Foods Ark of Taste and Whole Kids foundation.
