Derived from ori meaning "folding", and kami meaning "paper", origami is the art of paper-folding. Traditional Japanese origami has been practiced since the Edo Period but in modern usage origami is used as an inclusive form for all folding practices. Participants will transform flat square sheets of paper into finished sculptures through basic folding techniques. They will learn the basics of geometry and will be guided through instructions to focus on reading patterns and generating three dimensional structures.
