Join us for the day at the Youth Ranch where there will be activities and vendors for all to enjoy. To include Marty from the Pittsburgh Pirates, a Marauders game station. Bounce houses and a Dunk a Deputy tank.
Event details and schedule
The inaugural Row and Run to the Ranch will start at 8 a.m. and finish at the Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranch, located on Rye Wilderness Trail in Bradenton. Competitors will start with a 2.5 mile Canoe / SUP or Kayak trip up the Manatee River, ending just before the Rye Road Bridge. From there they will run a 5K course mostly through the trails of the Rye Wilderness Park ending on the Youth Ranch property.
6:00 am Registration opens
7:00 am Load First group onto buses
7:30 am Bus heads to boat launch
8:00 am First wave starts up River
Awards to First, Second and Third in each of the following categories:
Canoe division - Mens, Womens, Co-ed and Juvenile 17 and under
Kayak division - Mens, Womens, Juvenile 17 and under
For Canoers the age of the team is based on the oldest person in the canoe. Finish time is based on when both competitors have crossed the finish line. No tandem Kayakers (this year).
All competitors should park at the Youth Ranch and shuttle to the launch, if not you will be charged $6 by Rays Canoe for parking and you will be responsible for transporting your Canoe/Kayak back to your car.
During the water portion all competitors must wear a USCG approved flotation device.
If you’re providing your own Kayak/Canoe it must be labeled with your name and phone number.
