Welcome to the wonderful world of robots, where we’ll explore exactly what makes a robot tick. From self-driving cars to robo-security guards, our modern world is riddled with robots! Through hands-on, collaborative projects, students explore the idea of what robots are and how they think. We develop in students an inside-out understanding of how robots function, so when they see the latest and greatest technological innovations, they’ll know there’s no magic involved - they’re just robots in the real world! Class Highlights: How do self-driving cars work? How would you design your own? Students experiment with and code self-driving Thymio bots, learning the fundamentals of this technology. Shoot off into space as we code a virtual Mars Rover to collect data from the Red Planet. Students identify the tools the Rover has and how to use those tools to collect vital research. Explore the basics of Artificial Intelligence with a codable, playable AI 20 questions! Can you outsmart the robot? Who will love this class: Girls and boys in grades 3-5 Anyone with a curiosity towards building, tinkering, or how the world around them works
