Event details and schedule
Packet pick up will open Sunday, race morning only at the race venue at 9:30 a.m. at New England’s Ale House in Palm Harbor. Your registration fee includes your Michelob Ultra free beer for everyone over 21, a free mac n’ cheese sampler from New England’s Ale House, a timed and accurate 3.1 mile course, your awesome mac n’ cheese finisher’s medal and a “race local” tech shirt. We do have some promotional mac n’ cheese shirts in ladies sizes so if you’d like to trade your “race local” tech shirt for a ladies yellow you can do so free of charge. If you’d like an additional shirt please bring a $5 for our teens as they are sponsored to benefit Finishlines For Scholarships 501c3.
We will begin and end at the Ale House just before 10:30 a.m. Stay at the Ale House as I will walk you all at once as a group to the start/finish line on the Pinelllas Trail. The course is entirely flat and paved in a north out and back route from Oceanview to Valley on the Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail. Your county waiver is attached and your bib number will be assigned when you arrive. Feel free to print a copy to bring with you to expedite the check in process. If you don’t have access to a printer we will have waivers on site.
All 5K finisher’s are electronically timed as long as you wear your bib number pinned to the front of the shirt you will be finishing your run wearing. You have been programmed into our timing system so please be sure to wear your assigned number as we know many of your race with family and friends. We post times later in the day at www.727CanRace.com and award the top 25 males and top 25 female finishers at the post race party. We do not post times at the venue in order to main our less competitive running crowd. If you need any correction to your time or data simply email Suzanne at XanaduRaceManagement@gmail.com
Parking: Please NO PARKING IN NELSON CONSTRUCTION or in the law office directly south of the Ale House. Other than that most of the lots seem to be okay with our Ale House promotional runs. I would suggest parking behind the Ale House on Desoto Blvd or in the business center north of Nelson. Parking is prohibited along Alt. 19 and it’s also dangerous so please find a safe place to park, again preferably behind the Ale House parked vertically to allow for more vehicles to fit.
Remember if there should be a concern over weather, I will always update my voice mail so feel free to call me if you are concerned 727-CAN-RACE (727-226-7223). If it’s a general message then we’ll see you Sunday for our 10:30 a.m. 5K and 1 miile! I never answer my phone (except for law enforcement) so text me if you need to reach me. Remember the race is NEVER cancelled, simply come to the Ale House for the party and get all of your “race local tech shirt” your medal and free beer and mac n’ cheese. You can run when it’s safe but we get very creative with our awards party so be ready for the fun.
The race is entirely on the Pinellas Trail but PLEASE do not leave the venue as we all walk out together on the sidewalk only down Oceanview at 10:20 am just after the National Anthem is playing outside of the Ale House.
