Unwrapping Music: Great Songwriters & Their Craft
In this class we will study composers who mastered the art of combining lyrics with melody - from Paul McCartney to Smokey Robinson to Carole King to popular songwriters of today like Adele and Beyoncé.
Examining tunes like “Respect,” “I Will Survive,” and “Jolene,” we will look at how form, structure and the setting of poetic text create an emotional experience which make a timeless, beloved song.
