The JCPRD U Kids Triathlon in partnership with Charlie's House
They're always on the move anyway, why not make it official? Join one of the fastest growing and confidence boosting kid's sports in the country by challenging them to become triathletes! This youth triathlon is specifically designed to let the kids be the stars of the show. Athletes aged 6-14 years will compete in individual age groups in this race that is truly an event for all abilities. The Johnson County Park and Recreation District is excited to host the JCPRD U Kids Triathlon in partnership with Charlie's House.

Charlie's House is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in memory of a 2 year old KC boy, Charlie Horn, who was killed when a dresser fell on him. Our mission is to prevent injuries to children in and around the home. For more information about Charlie's House, visit www.charlieshouse.org
Come join the Fun. Charlie's House in partnering with the Johnson County Parks and Recreation to present this fun filled event at Kill Creek Park. By being a part of the Kid's Triathlon, we are able to help focus on water and bike safety, in addition to providing home safety information and materials to families. This is a USAT sanctioned event; participants will need to purchase a one-year USAT membership ($10).
Participants will compete in the following categories:
|6-10*||100 meters||3.6 miles||1 mile|
|11-14*||200 meters||5.4 miles||2 miles|
Athletes must participate and compete in the age group division corresponding to the athlete’s age on December 31st of the year in which the race is being held (2017).
*All athletes must have a parent or legal guardian with ID accompany them to pick-up their packet and sign appropriate waiver.
Midwest Youth Triathlon Series: You are invited to join the Midwest Youth Triathlon Series in which youth triathletes compete head-to-head for a chance to be crowned the Midwest Youth Triathlon Champion! Youth triathletes can earn points in the JCC Youth Triathlon, the TRiKC Longview Jr Triathlon, the Midwest Iron Kid Triathlon, and the grand finale JCPRD U Kids Triathlon in Partnership with Charlie's House. Both male and female competitors will earn points in their respective age groups of 7 and under, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14. All Series competitors who compete in all four races in the Series will be entered into a raffle to win an iPod Touch. In addition, awards will be given for first, second, and third place in each of the following two-year age categories: 8 and under; 9-10; 11-12; and 13-14. Visit www.trikids.us for the details. It is FREE to be part of the Series and participants can enroll in the Series when they register for one of the individual triathlons or at www.trikids.us. Note: You do not need to be part of the series to participate in the JCC Youth Triathlon, the TRiKC Longview Jr Triathlon, the Midwest Iron Kid Triathlon, or the JCPRD UKids Triathlon in Partnership with Charlie's House.
Dive into Training - Kill Creek Beach: Jun 5 - Aug 28, 6 pm - 7:30 pm
JCPRD will offer open water swim training for all athletes competing in this event at Kill Creek Beach for $4.00 per participant, per visit ($4.50 per non-JoCo resident).
Kill Creek Beach, the scheduled event venue, will host every Monday from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm starting June 5 and lasting through August 28.
All triathletes are welcome. Wetsuits are allowed.
Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in each age group.
