The PACE Derby Day event is a unique trail run through the Florida Horse Park. 5K runners can take in the beauty of the park. 10K runners get the added benefit of running through the Cross Florida Greenway trail and will receive a finishers medal.
Event shirts will be modeled after the 2017 Derby winner - Always Dreaming, and are guaranteed to the first 250 registrants.
The run will begin at 7:30 am, and packet pick-up will be the morning of the event.
In the tradition of horse events, ribbons will be given and awarded as follows:
5K: male/female, 3-deep, 5-year age groups, overall and masters
10K: male/female, 3-deep, 10-year age groups, overall and masteres - finishers medal
1-mile: this is NOT a timed event

7:15 - warm up by ZONE Health and Fitness
7:30 - race begins
8:15 - 5K awards
9:15 - 10K awards
When you enter the park, turn to the right and follow the road around until you see the signs for parking. Everyone will park in the polo field which is designated with a series of blue boards running along the ground. There will be people directing you.
Are required to sign a Greenway Trails waiver and we ask that you add a 10K sticker to your bib number at registration. This will allow the course monitors to distinguish between 5k & 10k runners.
When the race is over--pick up your FINISHERS MEDAL
at the Awards Tent!!
1-mile runners After the race, head to the PHOTO BOOTH! Drape yourself in a garland of roses, put on a Derby Hat and pose for the camera! The ROUTE (see photo in gallery) 5K route
Go to the 1/2 mile marker and turn around. Pick up your finishers certificate at the Awards Tent!!
Follow the road toward the entrance to the park 2.
cross the field and pick up the road on the other side (see mile #1) 3.
Make a left at the tree line and go south to the edge of the park (Water station #1) 4.
turn, then follow the next tree line north until you see an opening 5.
Make a left then head toward a single tree in the field, (see mile #2) and make another left headed down again to the southern edge of the park then back to the next tree line 6.
make a right and go to the road 7.
At the 5K/10k split, make a RIGHT toward the barns and event areas 8.
take a left through the event area, then a right back toward the concession area. 9.
Go through the small field adjacent to the concession area to the finish line. 10K route

At the 5k/10k split, make a LEFT at the road 8.
There is a fork ahead—take the right fork and follow it through the gate to enter the Greenway trails 9.
Turn right going north into the trail and follow the tape and markers. (see mile #3 & #4) There are two locations within the Greenway where runners will be crossing paved bicycle trails, please be cautious and aware of cyclists.
Emerge from the Greenway trail back into the Horse Park (Water station #3) and go directly across the field (see mile#5) 11.
Retrace a small section of the 5k route then turn right onto a paved road that crosses the southern field. 12.
Make a RIGHT at the 5k/10k split and head toward the barns and event areas 13.
take a left through the event area, then a right back toward the concession area. 14.
Go through the small field adjacent to the concession area to the finish line.
