We aim to make The Oberlin Mile the premier 1-mile foot race in the country. The most fun one, too! It will be the standard by which all other competitive mile runs are measured.
Open to all runners (and walkers) of all age groups. The run(s) will be in the morning and a street race "on the bricks" of Oberlin. The event will consist of separate and distinct runs, intended for everyone - serious competition, and serious fun!
* Competitive 1-Mile Men’s Race: For all age groups. The coveted and legendary "Yellow Jersey" awarded for the first-place finisher. Trophies or medals awarded for top three (3) over-all and top three (3) per age group.
* Competitive 1-Mile Women’s Race: For all age groups. The coveted and legendary "Yellow Jersey" awarded for the first-place finisher. Prizes awarded for top three (3) over-all and top three (3) per age group.
* Family and Kids 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk
TEAMS - Please remember, The Oberlin Mile encourages teams, but formal, collegiate teams are not permitted. Teams may be organized by independent civic and community groups, elementary, junior high/middle school and high school. Collegiate students and athletes are encouraged and desired to participate, and may form teams independent of school affiliation.
