Tai Chi is a philosophy of integration through movement, connecting every joint, muscle, and organ system during practice. Tai Chi opens the body in unique and gentle ways, which allows for more range of motion and blood flow. Once the body opens, then the natural energy (jin) in the body can return, which makes the body feel young again. The exercise focuses primarily on the hips and feet by first strengthening them and then using them for better balance. Tai chi is a meditation par excellence, we work the mind as much as the body. The class will be doing the first section of the Chen Pan Ling 99 posture form which is 13 postures. Chi gung and loosening exercises will be at the beginning and end of each class. 6 classes
