About This Activity

Description

We're sorry, but this class is over. The last meeting was Saturday, June 8, 2019.

(Ages 7-12 with Adult)

This fun, active 8-week class is the perfect way to spend quality time with your child while learning to play the guitar! Designed for kids aged 7-12 at a beginning level and adults at any level of experience, this class allows you and your child to share the experience of playing guitar together and, along the way, both of you improve your skills.

Together, kids and parents at a beginning level explore the guitar and learn basic concepts including forming basic chords, playing melodies, strumming and singing. Kids and parents with more experience learn more complicated versions of the same songs. You and your child learn to play together - a fun escape for both and a wonderful parent-child bonding experience.

Students who finish this class can continue in Parent + Child Guitar Class for another session or join Guitar Class 2 (for kids or adults).

Please note: If more than one child in the family is attending, each child should be enrolled separately. Both adults and children should have their own guitar. For more information, and for instrument recommendations, please contact Risa Carlson, Guitar Department Chair, at (202) 686-8000 x1104 or rcarlson@levinemusic.org.
