Dear Family & Friends,
It’s back again and a little under a month away! The Third Annual Heroes vs. Cancer 5K will be held at Episcopal Academy on Sunday, September 15th.This year we have also added a 400m Kids Fun Run :)
All proceeds will go directly to the Coaches vs. Cancer program of The American Cancer Society. The goal of this event is to celebrate survivors, remember and honor those we have lost, and fight back so that no one loses another family member, friend, or loved one to this disease. Cancer hits close to home for too many people, and on September 15th we will fight for everyone, in every community, and against every cancer.
As you may recall, a couple of years ago Matt & I became involved with Coaches vs. Cancer, specifically with the School & Youth Initiative. For those of you who don't know, the Philadelphia Coaches vs. Cancer School and Youth Initiative is a program designed to encourage student-athletes, coaches, fans, parents, athletic directors, and local communities to make an impact in the fight against cancer. Any community member or business can be a part of the Coaches vs. Cancer program.
Over the past two years, we have raised over $10,000 for this great organization. We are hoping to get over 100 runners this year and bring in even more money. That’s where we need your help!
Here are some ways to show your support:
- Sign up to run the 5K and/or 400m Kids Fun Run
- Volunteer - let us know if you can help us out that day!
- Share about the event (see attached flyer)
