The Inaugural Inclusion means Everyone 5K is a run/walk for everyone no matter what their ability. Join us in Delaware's first all inclusion 5K event and help us celebrate everyone's independence with a bang on the 4th of July!
Inclusion is so important in today's world but there are so many obstacles that may get in the way. There has been a concern from many parents with children with special needs in our school districts in the state of Delaware. Many children are NOT able to join their peers in PE classes because the PE teachers are not properly trained in "Adaptive PE"! It is not the fault of our teachers - they do not know the proper way to include our special kiddos!! Our "Inclusion is for Everybody 5K" will also be raising funds to help support our state to properly teach ALL PE teachers in Adaptive PE so ALL of our children will be able to enjoy physical activity TOGETHER!
The course is a safe, flat track with room for wheelchairs, strollers, walkers etc.... There will be ample parking available. A "tent city" will offer every participant to enjoy shade, food, drink and to visit participating organizations for information and awareness. Please contact the Race Directors for more information about providing a tent the day of event.
