Instructor: Vien Le Wood In this workshop, you'll learn all the basics of Sashiko embroidery, a traditional Japanese stitching technique used to mend and pattern fabric. Beautifully tessellating geometric patterns are created to both reinforce and ornament textiles with just a simple running stitch. In our two class sessions, students will hand sew and bind the edges of a small sampler quilt, bringing home the fundamental skills to apply Sashiko embroidery to large scale projects. -- All materials for sample making and learning the technique are included. Any additional materials will need to be supplied by the student based on their vision. This class doesn't include access to free Open Studio.
